Company Categories allow you to categorise each of your suppliers, to give you increased insight, visibility and controls into your supplier relationships.
Benefits of using Company Categories
Highlight strategic / key suppliers: Drive increased value by highlighting suppliers that have proven to be exceptional partners.
- Reduce risk: Flag which suppliers should not be used for new contracts.
Instant impact: Simply apply a Company Category via a dropdown and source suppliers from a category using the filters on the Companies Index.
- Customisable: You can customise your Company Categories to best suit your organisation.
Note: Company Categories are private to your client organisation and cannot be seen by your suppliers.
Setting up Company Categories
There are default Company Categories for you to use immediately. If you wish to customise the categories to meet your organisation's needs, please contact IAND.
Default Company Categories:
Not set: The default option for each company.
Partner: A key supplier (e.g. delivery / strategic).
Do not use: A way to clearly share this message internally.
Applying a Company Category to a Supplier
The default category for each of your suppliers is ‘Not set’. To change this, go directly to your supplier’s company profile, click on the dropdown under their company name and make your selection from the dropdown. You can view the Company Category from the List view on your Companies page as well as directly from an individual company profile.
Categories can be updated on each supplier's page at any time by Level A and B users, making it easy to keep your supply chain up-to-date on the suitability for future work.
Browsing your suppliers
You can see the category of each of your suppliers from the List view of your Companies page. You can also filter by Company Category from here, to narrow down searches when browsing your supply chain.
