Carbon
Regulations (PPN 06/21, PPN 006) require government departments, bodies and agencies to request their suppliers' Carbon Reduction Plans and ensure suppliers are committed and planning to achieve Net Zero.
IAND captures carbon impact by allowing suppliers to submit their Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions (tCO₂e) each year. This helps to track progress towards carbon goals.
Innovation
Innovation is a core part of UK procurement regulations, as determined in PPN 06/20 / PPN 002 and in the Green Paper for Procurement. IAND allows suppliers to showcase innovation by capturing the amount of grant funding received and investments made in research and development projects. Where the supplier hasn't added this, the IAND IMPACT API pulls in this data from publicly available sources.
Diversity
Diversity and inclusion are at the centre of innovation. IAND captures supplier diversity allowing them to provide information on the percentage of women in the upper quartile pay grade at their company. Where the supplier hasn't added this, the IAND IMPACT API pulls in this data from publicly available sources.
Organisation
UK procurement regulations (PPN 06/20 / PPN 002) aim to make the the UK the best place to start and grow a business by requiring diverse and local supply chains. Knowing a supplier’s company type and size empowers you to build a local supplier ecosystem and help companies scale-up. Each company self-declares their startup and VCSE status.
-
Start-up: A start-up is defined as a company that is designed to grow fast, either developing technology or using technology to operate its business.
-
VCSE: A supplier's company qualifies as a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) if it works toward a social purpose. These sorts of companies are also sometimes referred to as ‘third sector’ or ‘civil society’ organisations.
Company Size
The supplier's headcount helps to highlight the size category of their company, flagging suppliers who are SMEs with an SME badge and status. Where a supplier hasn’t provided headcount, the IAND IMPACT API uses publicly available data as an indicator.
