Relationships / Company categories
Company Categories allow you to categorise each of your suppliers by your relationship, to give you increased insight, visibility and controls. Your organisation can define your own Company categories - speak to your Account Manager if you wish to make a change.
Benefits of using Company Categories
- Highlight strategic / key suppliers: Drive increased value by highlighting suppliers that have proven to be exceptional partners.
- Reduce risk: Flag which suppliers should not be used for new contracts or those which are under review.
- Instant impact: You can apply a Company Category via a dropdown and then source suppliers from a category using the filters on the Companies Index.
Note: Company Categories are private to your client organisation and cannot be seen by your suppliers.
Applying a Company Category to a supplier
The default category for each of your suppliers is ‘+ Standard'. To change this, go directly to your supplier’s Company Profile, click on the dropdown under 'Account management' and make your selection from the dropdown. You can view the Company Category from the list view on your Companies Index as well as directly from an individual Company Profile.
Categories can be updated on each supplier's Company Profile page at any time by Level A - C users, making it easy to keep your supply chain up-to-date on the suitability for future work.
Browsing your suppliers by Company category
You can see the category of each of your suppliers from the list view of your Companies Index. You can also filter by Company Category from here, to narrow down searches when browsing your supply chain.
Services and Sectors
Your organisation can define the Services and Sectors that appear on your Companies Index, enabling you to easily filter the list to Suppliers you wish to source for a Project / add to a Project / review for spend and capacity. Suppliers select the services they offer on onboarding and can update their catalogue at any time.
Benefits of configuring Services
- Personalise your Portfolio: Ensure you can easily source and engage with suppliers based on the services they offer and sectors they work within.
- See capacity and performance: Apply the Services filter on the Companies Index see the amount your organisation has spent on each supplier in the category against their performance score.
- View concentration: Level A users can see the number of suppliers offering each service on the Services Index Page to see where there is an over/under supply of suppliers offering the Service.
- Validate services: Validate the services that the supplier has offered your organisation to highlight their strengths.

Sources
Your organisation may have set up multiple sources on your Portfolio. They may reflect different systems from your organisation (finance, procurement, supplier sourcing list) or reflect different partners working in your Alliance.
Benefits of using Sources
- Filter by a source on both the Companies and Projects Index pages to review information from a single Alliance partner / specific system.
- Sort by source on the Companies Index to easily see suppliers working across partners, to find opportunities for programmatic spend or where there may be capacity constraints.
- See capacity and performance: See on the Projects Index across all Partner projects and compare spend and performance. Find suppliers working with multiple Partners.
- See when a source was last updated: Level A users can see on the 'Data imports' index when the source was last updated and take action to keep up-to-date.
